Modern Slavery Act Statement

Our Commitment

At Edison Elm Inc. and our affiliated brands (including EdisonFlex™, EdisonGrip™, EdisonBox™, and CableIQ™), we are committed to conducting business with integrity, transparency, and respect for human rights. We recognize that modern slavery and human trafficking are significant global issues and we take our responsibility seriously to prevent such practices within our operations and supply chains.

Scope of This Statement

This statement is made pursuant to applicable Modern Slavery Acts, including but not limited to the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and the Australian Modern Slavery Act 2018. It covers the activities of Edison Elm Inc. and its subsidiaries for the current financial year.

Our Business

Edison Elm Inc. is a Canadian-headquartered industrial manufacturer’s representation firm with sales territories across Canada. Through our EdisonSelect™ brands (EdisonFlex™ wire & cable, EdisonGrip™ cable ties, EdisonBox™ enclosures, and CableIQ™ digital platforms), we bring innovative products and services to engineers, distributors, and contractors.

In addition to representation, we provide digital platforms that enhance supply chain transparency and engineering efficiency, and technical services that support customers across the entire product lifecycle. While our operations are based in Canada, our partnerships and supply chains extend internationally across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Our Supply Chains

Our supply chains include the manufacturing and distribution of electrical wire, cable, components, and enclosures. We partner only with vetted manufacturing facilities that hold recognized certifications (including CSA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001). We work closely with our suppliers to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and ethical standards.

Our Policies

We have implemented internal policies and supplier requirements to reduce the risk of modern slavery:

  • Supplier Code of Conduct – Requires compliance with international labor standards, including prohibition of forced, bonded, or child labor.
  • Ethical Sourcing Policy – Mandates ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) compliance, supported by audits and certifications (e.g., ISO, COC audits).
  • Whistleblowing & Reporting – Provides secure and confidential channels for employees or partners to raise concerns about unethical or unlawful practices.

Risk Assessment & Due Diligence

We conduct ongoing due diligence on our suppliers, focusing on higher-risk geographies and product categories. This includes:

  • Reviewing third-party audit results and certifications.
  • Requiring written commitments from suppliers regarding labor practices.
  • Conducting periodic assessments of supply chain risks in collaboration with industry partners.

Training & Awareness

We provide training for employees who work directly with our suppliers and procurement teams, enabling them to recognize red flags for labor exploitation. We also raise awareness internally about the importance of preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.

Governance & Accountability

The Edison Elm leadership team is responsible for monitoring compliance with this policy and reporting progress to the Board of Directors. We are committed to transparency, and this statement will be reviewed, updated, and published annually on our corporate website.

Looking Ahead

We continue to strengthen our monitoring and reporting frameworks. Our focus in the upcoming year includes:

  • Expanding supplier audits to cover additional ESG criteria.
  • Publishing annual ESG and Modern Slavery compliance reports.
  • Partnering with organizations such as One Tree Planted to further integrate social and environmental responsibility into our business model.
